Wuthering Waves 2.2 Characters: Brant and Zani Skills Explained

Wuthering Waves 2.2 Brings Two Wildly Different New Resonators

Kuro Games’ Wuthering Waves version 2.2 is live, and the new limited banner features two characters who represent opposite ends of the playstyle spectrum: Brant, an aggressive offensive fusion damage dealer built around explosive burst windows, and Zani, a spectro support character whose entire kit revolves around empowering teammates through shared resonance buffs. Whether you are a DPS-oriented player or a team-building enthusiast who loves finding the perfect synergy setup, one of these two resonators is likely to interest you. Here is a complete skill breakdown and team-building guide for both.

Brant — Fusion Burst DPS

Brant is a Fusion-element resonator following the Damage Dealer role. His playstyle revolves around building “Ignition Stacks” through his Normal Attacks and Skill, then detonating them with his Forte — a supercharged follow-up attack that multiplies damage based on total Ignition Stack count. His Resonance Liberation (Ultimate) creates a “Conflagration Field” around him for 12 seconds that automatically grants maximum Ignition Stacks and enhances his Normal Attack sequence with additional Fusion damage hits. Brant’s kit rewards aggressive, uninterrupted rotations — he is best played on field for the duration of his Liberation window and then swapped out while cooldowns reset. Recommended main stats: ATK% Sonate Disc, Fusion DMG% Sonate Disc, Crit Rate/Crit DMG as Sonate Disc 4 and 5 slots. Best Echo set: 4-piece Sierra Gale Duo (converted to Fusion resonance) for maximum burst window damage amplification.

Brant Best Teams

Brant’s most effective team compositions pair him with a Fusion amplifier and a universal healer/support. Team 1 (High Investment): Brant / Encore / Sanhua — Encore provides Fusion resonance bonus and off-field fusion damage while Sanhua applies Concerto Energy generation for faster Liberation cycling. Team 2 (F2P Friendly): Brant / Baizhu / Yangyang — Baizhu heals and provides minor buffs while Yangyang handles Concerto generation efficiently. Brant’s forte circuit performs best when his Liberation is available every other rotation, so team Resonance Energy generation rate is the primary team-building consideration.

Zani — Spectro Support Buffer

Zani is a Spectro-element resonator in the Support role. Her unique mechanic is the “Spectral Mirror” — a buff that she applies to a target team member that mirrors a percentage of Zani’s own ATK and Crit DMG stats onto the buffed character for 15 seconds. This makes Zani’s value scale directly with her own offensive stats, which is an unusual design for a support character and means building her with high ATK and Crit DMG (rather than HP or EM) is the correct approach. Her Resonance Skill summons a spectro shield around the entire team (5-hit absorption based on Zani’s ATK), providing both damage absorption and a bonus Crit Rate increase to all shielded characters.

Zani Best Teams

Zani pairs most effectively with high-multiplier DPS characters who benefit from stat-sharing. Team 1 (Optimal): Zani / Jiyan / Verina — Zani buffs Jiyan’s Crit DMG through Spectral Mirror, Verina provides healing and ATK buffs, and Jiyan delivers the damage. This team achieves some of the highest theoretical DPS numbers in the current content tier. Team 2 (Spectro Resonance): Zani / Jinhsi / Taoqi — Running dual Spectro with Jinhsi activates the Spectro Resonance bonus (+12% Spectro DMG), and Taoqi provides shields for additional Spectral Mirror uptime.

Version 2.2 Events and Free Pulls

Version 2.2’s featured event — “Resonance Convergence Trial” — awards up to 2,400 Astrite (equivalent to 8 pulls) through its main event mission chain over the version’s 42-day run. A second event, “Tidal Heritage,” provides another 1,600 Astrite through daily and weekly completion. Combined with the standard Astrite income from exploration, dailies, and the Wuthering Waves battle pass, players can accumulate approximately 12,000-16,000 Astrite freely during version 2.2 — enough for 40-54 pulls depending on efficiency.
