Privacy protection on smartphones is moving beyond basic passcode locks. Android Private Space allows users to create a segregated container inside the operating system where sensitive financial, medical, and personal applications are completely isolated from standard app drawers. Sandboxed App Storage and Isolated Notification Trays
When an app is installed inside Private Space, its data files, cache, and notification permissions are separated from the main user profile. Notifications generated by private apps are hidden on the lock screen and status bar until Private Space is explicitly unlocked by the user.
How to Access and Lock Down Your Private Container
- Go to Settings > Security & Privacy > Private Space.
- Unlock the menu with your primary device PIN or fingerprint.
- Install apps directly into Private Space via an isolated Play Store login.
- Lock Private Space manually or set it to auto-lock whenever your device screen turns off.
