PUBG Mobile Season 35 Update: New Map, Weapons, and Modes

PUBG Mobile’s Biggest Season in Years Has Arrived

Krafton has delivered one of the most content-dense PUBG Mobile season updates in recent memory with the arrival of Season 35. Moving away from the desert and tropical settings that have dominated recent rotations, Season 35 introduces a brand-new Arctic-themed battleground, two fresh weapons designed specifically for cold-weather combat scenarios, a sweeping overhaul of the ranked point system, and a limited-time PvPvE mode that blends battle royale mechanics with cooperative survival against environmental hazards. If you have been away from PUBG Mobile for a while, Season 35 is the best reason to return.

New Map: Frozen Tundra (Vikendi 2.0)

The centrepiece of Season 35 is the return and complete reconstruction of Vikendi, now reimagined as Frozen Tundra. The map retains Vikendi’s iconic size (6×6 km) but introduces an entirely rebuilt terrain that incorporates deep ice crevasses, blizzard weather events that reduce visibility to near-zero for 60 seconds at random intervals, and underground bunker networks carved beneath frozen lake surfaces. The snowmobile returns as the map’s signature vehicle, now with an improved physics model that handles realistic acceleration on different ice and snow surface densities. Two major landmark zones — the Polar Research Station and the Glacial Industrial Complex — replace older Vikendi POIs and offer completely new loot distributions weighted toward warm-weather gear critical for the new Hypothermia mechanic.

The Hypothermia Survival Mechanic

Frozen Tundra introduces a brand-new environmental survival mechanic unique to this map. Your character has a Body Temperature meter that depletes slowly when outside in the open air and drops sharply during blizzard events. If your temperature reaches critical levels, you begin losing health at a rate of 2 HP per second. Managing temperature requires finding Heat Packs (a new consumable), staying near burning barrel objects scattered across the map, or taking shelter inside buildings and bunkers. This mechanic fundamentally changes how you approach looting, positioning, and zone rotations — making the transition to Frozen Tundra feel genuinely different from any previous PUBG Mobile map experience.

New Weapon 1: Kuzma S — Arctic Designated Marksman Rifle

The first new weapon added in Season 35 is the Kuzma S, a Soviet-inspired designated marksman rifle chambered in 7.62mm ammunition. It features a unique integrated suppressor that cannot be removed, making it the first weapon in PUBG Mobile with a factory-suppressed barrel that requires no attachments for silent operation. The Kuzma S handles an 8-round detachable box magazine by default, extendable to 15 rounds with an extended mag attachment. Effective range is approximately 200-350 metres, placing it between an assault rifle and a sniper rifle in the gunplay spectrum — ideal for the long sightlines across Frozen Tundra’s open glacier fields.

New Weapon 2: Shockwave Launcher (Care Package Only)

The second weapon is a care package exclusive called the Shockwave Launcher. It fires an area-denial projectile that does not deal direct damage on impact — instead, it creates a 15-metre shockwave radius that knocks back all players and vehicles caught in the blast, destroys cover objects like wooden walls and barricades, and applies a 3-second disorient effect that blurs the affected players’ screens. It carries 3 shots per care package with no reload option. The Shockwave Launcher introduces a new tactical dimension where care package control becomes about zone denial rather than just pure firepower supremacy.

Ranked Mode Overhaul: Division-Based System

Season 35 replaces PUBG Mobile’s tier-based ranked progression (Bronze through Conqueror) with a Division-based system. Players are now placed into Divisions (Division 5 through Division 1) within each tier. Winning matches and achieving high kill counts awards Division Points (DP) that promote you through divisions before unlocking the next full tier. Crucially, a new demotion protection system ensures that players who drop below a division threshold are only demoted a maximum of one division per week — preventing the frustrating overnight rank wipes that plagued players in previous seasons after server connectivity issues.

How to Download Season 35

The Season 35 update file is approximately 2.1GB and is available now on the Google Play Store. Open the Play Store, search PUBG Mobile, and tap “Update.” Season 35 rewards, including the new Arctic-themed Royale Pass cosmetics, are available immediately after the update installs.
